Description
Ricardo's career started with the painting entitled 'Dustpan' created in 1967. Named after his sister Martha who was instructed to sweep out the garage by her mother. She used the small masonite board with the start of a landscape that was sitting on a makeshift easel as a dustpan unable to find a regular dustpan, she didn't think anything about it being her brother's first painting. Little did she know she became his first art critic.
After dusting it off and turning it over, it is the image you see today-a vase with flowers that appear to be melting already defining his surrealistic style, being dubbed the 'Dali of the Desert'. Even then, at age of 14, "Curvismo" or curvism can be seen emerging from his work.
